Over Screen Sequel
I've been spurred on by some actual interest in the Hayabusa Over Screen! Our very recent new importer down in South Africa got in touch with the office. Apparently he had a customer recently with the very same issues (lack of upper body wind protection) and keen to find a solution. So I've been 'digging' for old tooling with our suppliers - expecting to be told, "sorry threw it out years ago". But no, it appears the two key tools are available to produce a re-invented screen! -Maybe?
As I said the screen sits over the standard (or double-bubble) which is how we were able to get the additional height required. Mounting on either side is by slots on on the screen edge which allow the screen to be clamped under the mirror stems. At the front four mountings are positioned forward of the usual screen aperture on the fairing face. The second element is therefore a boomerang shaped self skin p/u foam moulding which sticks to the fairing face. This provides a 'gasket' between the fairing face and the screen as well as captive threaded inserts, avoiding the need to drill the fairing face. - I didn't fancy the cost of replacing customers fairs after they'd drilled mounting holes, only to discover they didn't like the results! The bike changed in 2008 and therefore what we have only fits pre '08 models. Watch this space for availability.
